SOY sauce will cost more due to increasing costs triggered by the US-Iran conflict, China Press reported.
Members of the Malaysia Association of Soy Sauce Manufacturers voted unanimously to raise prices during their annual general meeting in Penang on Saturday.
Its president Datuk Leong Keng Fei explained that manufacturers had to face surging costs due to the war.
“Transportation costs, diesel and raw materials are all increasing.
“If the soy sauce industry doesn’t adjust prices, how can we continue to operate?” he asked.
