Authorities shutter famed George Town eatery for 14 days over health violations


GEORGE TOWN: A famous restaurant in George Town was ordered to shut by state Health Department after cockroaches and pest dropping were found on the premises.

The restaurant, which has been operating for more than 40 years, was shut down on Wednesday (April 15) for 14 days.

State health committee chairman Daniel Gooi Zi Sen confirmed the closure when contacted.

He said the outlet had violated the regulation under Section 11 of the Food Act 1983.
