Tun Daim’s daughter arrives in court to face charges over failure to declare assets


KUALA LUMPUR: Tun Daim Zainuddin’s daughter, Asnida Daim, has arrived at the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex here to face graft charges on Tuesday (April 7).

She came wearing a mask and sunglasses.

Her lawyer, Yu Ying Ying, confirmed that the daughter of the former finance minister will be charged under Section 36(2) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009.

Section 36(2) of the MACC Act 2009 relates to the offence of failing to comply with a written notice from the MACC to declare assets.

According to Yu, Asnida had her statement recorded at the MACC headquarters for about five hours starting at 10am on Monday (April 6).
