New task forces to tighten energy supply monitoring in Sabah, Sarawak, Labuan

PETALING JAYA: A special Op Tiris 4.0 task force will be set up in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan to strengthen energy supply monitoring and enforcement, says Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.

The Deputy Prime Minister said each task force will be jointly chaired by the federal secretary and the respective state secretary.

“The state-level Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry will serve as the secretariat, with participation from relevant state agencies,” he said at a televised press conference on Monday (April 6).

Fadillah, who is also the Energy Transition and Water Transformation Minister, said the move was among the outcomes of Monday’s Inter-Agency Enforcement Coordination High-Level Committee (JTPAP) meeting.

Formed on March 11, the JTPAP aims to ensure the continuity of energy supply while strengthening distribution control and monitoring nationwide.
