King, Queen welcome birth of seventh grandchild


JOHOR BARU: Their Majesties Sultan Ibrahim and Raja Zarith Sofiah, the King and Queen of Malaysia, have welcomed the birth of their seventh grandchild - a baby girl.

Johor Council of Royal Court president Datuk Dr Abdul Rahim Ramli announced that Johor Regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim and his wife Che’ Puan Mahkota Khaleeda Johor’s princess was born on Sunday (April 5).

“Alhamdulillah, both mother and baby are doing well and in good health,” he said in a statement posted on Sultan Ibrahim’s Facebook on Monday (April 6).

He said the council also congratulated the royal family on the happy news.

The royal couple’s eldest princess, Tunku Khalsom Aminah Sofiah Tunku Ismail, was born on June 25, 2015.

Their second child, Raja Muda Johor Tunku Iskandar Abdul Jalil Abu Bakar Ibrahim Tunku Ismail, was born on Oct 14, 2017, their third child, Tunku Abu Bakar Ibrahim Tunku Ismail, was born on July 17, 2019 while their fourth child Tunku Zahrah Zarith Aziyah Tunku Ismail was born on April 21, 2021.
