Ambassador Ouyang expresses condolences over Ling’s passing

PETALING JAYA: The Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia, Ouyang Yujing, has expressed condolences over the passing of Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik, former president of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) and former Transport Minister.

Ouyang said Dr Ling was a senior Malaysian politician and a respected leader in the Chinese community, active in national politics and public affairs.

He made significant contributions to promoting Chinese education, the welfare of the Chinese community, and the harmonious development of Malaysia’s multicultural society.

“As an important leader of the MCA, Dr Ling cared deeply about Malaysia-China friendship and actively promoted mutually beneficial cooperation, playing an important role in enhancing understanding and friendship between the peoples of both countries,” Ouyang said.

The ambassador extended his sincere condolences to Dr Ling’s family and the MCA, on behalf of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia and in his personal capacity.
