Thunderstorm, heavy rain warning issued for several states until 9pm (March 29)


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in several areas in the Peninsula, Sarawak and Sabah until 9pm on Monday (March 30).

MetMalaysia said the states expected to be affected in the Peninsula are Perlis, Kedah (Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Sik and Baling), Perak (Larut, Matang Dan Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim), Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub and Bentong), Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Petaling), Kuala Lumpur and Johor (Segamat, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian and Kulai).

In Sarawak, the areas set to be affected are Kuching (Lundu), Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Mukah (Matu, Dalat and Mukah), Kapit (Kapit and Bukit Mabong), Bintulu, Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri and Marudi) and Limbang (Lawas).

In Sabah, the areas likely to be hit are the interior regions (Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort and Nabawan), the West Coast (Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Kota Belud) and Labuan.
