KUALA LUMPUR: A homeowner in Taman Midah, Cheras, here has been allegedly attacked by his tenant following a dispute over parking.
Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Rosdi Daud said the victim, in his 60s, lodged a report on Tuesday (March 24) alleging that the suspect shouted abusive words before throwing a piece of wood and stones at him.
"The complainant suffered an injury to his leg and other parts of his body," he said in a statement on Sunday (March 29), adding that the suspect was arrested the next day on Jalan Peel.
"Checks found that the suspect has a criminal record with two offences. The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code.
"Investigations showthat the attack stemmed from dissatisfaction over car parking," he added.
The suspect was remanded for two days and has since been released on police bail. Investigations are ongoing.
In a separate case, an Egyptian national was arrested for allegedly issuing death threats to his landlady.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus said police received a report from the woman, who is in her seventies, on March 25.
"The complainant alleged that a foreign tenant renting a room at Kampung Muhibbah PPR threatened to kill her and burn down her unit.
"An Egyptian man in his twenties was arrested on Thursday. Checks found that the suspect did not possess valid travel documents," he said in a statement on Sunday.
He added that the suspect, who was initially remanded for three days, is now under further remand until April 11 for immigration-related offences.
"Further investigations are ongoing," he said.
