Stadiums in Bukit Jalil rebranded in TM deal

KUALA LUMPUR: Stadium Nasional and Stadium Putra in Bukit Jalil will be rebranded as TM Stadium Nasional and Unifi Arena.

Stadium Malaysia Corporation (PSM) in a statement on Friday (March 13) announced the decision was made after it entered into a naming rights partnership with Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) effective March 6, 2026 for a period of three years.

PSM said this was an important step to ensure that the country's two major venues continue to remain relevant, comfortable and competitive as locations for hosting international-class sports and entertainment events.

"As the country's largest sports and entertainment venues, the National Stadium and Putra Stadium are not just venues for events.

"Both stadiums are locations where historic moments are created, national spirit is strengthened and millions of Malaysians come together as one nation," the statement said.

Meanwhile, PSM chief executive officer Iliyas Jamil said that as the manager of the National Stadium and Putra Stadium, his party is committed to ensuring that both venues are always at the best level for Malaysians.

"This naming rights collaboration is an initiative by PSM to strengthen the sustainability and long-term development of these venues.

"The proceeds from this collaboration will be channelled towards efforts to upgrade and improve stadium facilities to provide a better experience for visitors," he said.

Meanwhile, Telekom Malaysia Berhad group chief executive officer, Amar Huzaimi Md Deris said that they were honoured to be entrusted with the naming rights for this iconic national venue and greatly appreciated the trust given.

"The National Stadium and Putra Stadium have long been places where Malaysians gather to show support, celebrate successes and witness historic moments.

Through this collaboration, we hope to continue to strengthen both stadiums so that they remain places that unite the community and fuel national pride for generations to come." – Bernama
