Jempol cops on lookout for underwear thief caught on camera


JEMPOL: Police are looking for a man captured on CCTV stealing a piece of women's underwear from a house in Bahau near here.

Footage shows the suspect snatching the item, which was drying in the front yard, and fleeing the scene.

Jempol OCPD Supt Norhisham Mustapar said a woman lodged a report on the incident at 2.20pm on Wednesday (March 11).

"The unidentified male suspect trespassed into the residence by climbing over the perimeter wall," he said in a statement.

The case is being investigated under Section 447 of the Penal Code for criminal trespass. If convicted, the offender faces up to six months in jail, a fine of up to RM3,000, or both.

He urged anyone with information to contact investigating officer Sjn Mohamad Nor Effendi Mohd Tahar at 06-458 2222.
