Cops nab duo over convenience store robbery in Cheras


KUALA LUMPUR: Two men believed to be involved in a robbery at a convenience store in Taman Mutiara, Cheras have been detained.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Rosdi Daud said the robbery occurred at the outlet at about 4am on Feb 22.

He said police received a report on the incident shortly after it happened and launched an investigation.

“Following intelligence and investigation, we arrested the two suspects, aged 26, in separate locations around Kajang and Cheras.

“Several items believed to have been used during the robbery were also seized,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (March 11).

ACP Mohd Rosdi added that both suspects are believed to be involved in several robbery cases at convenience stores as well as vehicle thefts in Kuala Lumpur, Johor and Selangor.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 392 of the Penal Code for robbery.

“The investigation papers are being completed and will be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor soon for further instructions,” he said.
