Putra Mahkota-Bandar Baru Nilai stretch on NSE reopened following flash floods

KUALA LUMPUR: The stretch at KM287 of the North-South Expressway in both directions between Putra Mahkota and Bandar Baru Nilai, which was inundated following heavy rain this afternoon, is now passable to all vehicles.

PLUS Malaysia in a Facebook post on Thursday (March 5) said the right and centre lanes in both directions have been reopened and that the Nilai Northbound lay-by, which was previously closed, has also reopened.

"Traffic is congested for 10km southbound and 4km northbound. Please use alternative routes and plan your journey," said the post.

At 6.44pm on Thursday, heavy rain triggered flash floods, resulting in all southbound lanes, as well as the emergency and left lanes northbound, being obstructed.

The situation had also led to the temporary closure of the Nilai Northbound lay-by. – Bernama
