Cops to call up activist over statements on Rawang temple

SHAH ALAM: Police will summon activist Arun Dorasamy "soon" following reports lodged against him regarding a temple in Rawang.

Selangor Police Chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar told a press conference at district police headquarters here on Monday (March 2) that eight police reports have been filed against Arun.

"The reports concern dissatisfaction over statements he made," Comm Shazeli said.

He added that the case has been classified as "Refer to Other Report" as it was related to previous issues involving the same temple.

He also said that one police report had been lodged after the temple's demolition.

It was reported earlier that reports had been lodged by NGOs against the activist after he made statements about the temple.

On Wednesday (Feb 25), several idols were moved from the temple without incident before the slated demolition.

On another matter, Comm Shazeli said that the recent theft of mosque donations in Seksyen 7 here was purely over financial issues and not related to anything racial.

"The funds were stolen solely for financial reasons," he said.

He added that the four suspects previously arrested will be charged in court on Tuesday (March 3).
