EPF dividends must be credited into correct accounts by law, says CEO

SHAH ALAM: Employees Provident Fund (EPF) dividends must be credited to the correct account as provided under the law, says the retirement fund’s CEO Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn.

"If the savings are in Account 1 or Account 2, the dividends must be credited into those accounts,” he said during the EPF’s 2025 dividend announcement on Saturday(Feb 28).

"So we cannot take dividends from other accounts and transfer them,” he added

He was commenting on Arau MP Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim’s proposal for the dividends to be channeled to the flexible account.

"We ask for 100% of the dividends to be channeled into Account 3 (Akaun Fleksibel)," Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim (PN-Arau) told the Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday (Feb 25).

He said this would be helpful to the people for the upcoming Hari Raya festivities.

Ahmad Zulqarnain said the 6.15% dividend will be credited into Account 3 based on the balance in that account.
