Disabled man found drowned after falling into river


SEREMBAN: A 62-year-old man with physical disabilities was found drowned after having fallen into Sungai Gedok, Tampin here Friday (Feb 27).

Tampin district police chief Supt Amiruddien Sariman said they received a call from the public about the incident at 11.50am.

"Investigations revealed that the victim left home at 2.30pm yesterday looking for some material for a broom in the area near the river before falling in and drowning.

"No criminal elements were found and the case has been classified as sudden death,” he said in a statement here today.

The body has been taken to Tampin Hospital for an autopsy, he added. - Bernama
