Haj quota of 31,600 pilgrims fully taken up. says Tabung Haji

PETALING JAYA: The country’s haj quota of 31,600 pilgrims for the 1447H/2026 season has been fully taken up, with appeals to close officially on 1 Ramadan.

Lembaga Tabung Haji group managing director and chief executive officer Mustakim Mohamad said this year’s offer process was smoother following early reminders to prospective pilgrims to make proper preparations.

He said the improvements helped reduce the deferment rate to about 18% compared with around 50% in the previous season.

Mustakim said appeals have reached 85,000 applications and all submissions received before 1 Ramadan will be considered.

"Any last-minute vacancies due to deferments or cancellations will be filled based on the existing appeal list, according to merit and set criteria," he added.

He said the first flight to the Holy Land is scheduled for April 18 and the last on May 20 while wukuf is expected to fall on May 26.
