MALAYSIAN Silambam’s senior figure Mahaguru Kasiraja was honoured with an award in Tamil Nadu, Makkal Osai reported.

The Silambam Lion award was conferred on him during an international Silambam competition organised by the KKK World Silambam Federation.

The event, which was held at the Thirumala Nayakkar College in Madurai, featured more than a thousand exponents from host nation India, Sri Lanka and Malaysia.

Muhibah Silambam Association of Malaysia students Siventhiran and Kishok won four gold medals between them while their trainer Grand Master Mahaguru C. Kasiraja received the Silambam Lion award.

Siventhiran, who is also Kasiraja’s grandson, also got the opportunity to perform a Silambam exhibition piece with his award-winning grandfather at the event.
