Heartbreak for Samantha Ee as hubby dies

THE husband of Samantha Ee, former member of the all-girl pop group Four Golden Princess, has passed away, China Press reported.

Datuk Tai Fah Chong, 78, died on Feb 3 and is survived by Ee, 35, and three of their children.

His wake will be held from Feb 4 to 7 at the Nirvana Centre in Kuala Lumpur and the burial will take place at a cemetery in Jerantut on Feb 8.

It was reported that Tai pursued Ee while she was studying in Japan.

Tai eventually won Ee over and they got hitched in June 2019. They welcomed their first child in September that year.

The couple had two more children and celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in 2024.

Four Golden Princess was a popular local children’s band in the 1990s, with memorable hits such as Hong Qing Ting (Red Dragonfly) and Mi Feng Gong Zuo (Bees Hard at Work).

The group produced over 20 albums before disbanding in 2008.

> A social media influencer who was fined RM40,000 for posting an offensive video online, has released a new video apologising for his actions and promising to repent, China Press reported.

In his latest video, Tang Sie Luk, 23, apologised to the public and to Malaysia before kneeling on a mattress and bowing three times.

Tang said he deeply regretted his past actions and has learnt his lesson.

“I would like to sincerely inform everyone that I was wrong.

“I hope everyone can give me a chance to produce better works in the future,” he said.

It was reported that Tang uploaded a video of himself along with two secondary school students, playing a prank on a homeless man in Johor Baru by giving him rice mixed with chicken bones from a fast food chain.

The video sparked widespread public outrage and led to an investigation by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.
