Cops record statement from actor who claimed childhood sexual abuse


KUALA LUMPUR: The police have recorded the statement of the male actor who claimed he was a victim of unnatural sex acts when he was a child.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus the 35-year-old actor's statement was recorded on Sunday (Feb 1).

"Initial investigation revealed the incident is believed to have occurred in 2005.

"There are no arrests yet and we are investigating under Section 377C of the Penal Code," he said when contacted on Monday (Feb 2).

The actor lodged a police report on Saturday (Jan 31), claiming he was sexually assaulted when he was a child.

Earlier, the actor shared a statement on social media, alleging that he was a victim of the act while he was still a child, involving an older individual who was said to hold a position of authority and was alleged to have a familial relationship with him.

According to the actor, the disclosure was made to raise awareness and to help protect other victims who may have experienced similar incidents.
