Three fake cops nabbed in Cheras after harassing foreigner

KUALA LUMPUR: Three bogus policemen have been arrested after they "detained" a foreigner here.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Rosdi Daud said that in the incident on Sunday (Jan 25), the complainant said he was stopped by three men who identified themselves as police.

"They then instructed the victim to open his bag for inspection.

"One of the suspects also handcuffed the complainant," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Jan 28).

A witness then contacted the police, leading to three arrests later on Sunday.

"Further investigation found that one of the suspect’s bags contained a pair of handcuffs and a police vest.

"All suspects are in their 20s and were remanded until today.

"They will be charged in court later today as well," ACP Rosdi added.
