PBS warns members not to oppose party's support for Barisan in Lamag, Kinabatangan by-elections

KINABATANGAN: Parti Bersatu Sabah is warning members not to oppose the party's decision to support Barisan Nasional in the Lamag and Kinabatangan by-elections.

Acting president Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam said PBS fully supports the Madani government and is backing Barisan candidates in Lamag and Kinabatangan.

"PBS will not compromise on any act (by members) that go against the party's decision," he said in a statement after chairing a PBS supreme council meeting for the year here on Friday (Jan 23).

"If members act against party instructions, they will be investigated and appropriate action will be taken," he said.

Also discussed during the meeting was the strategic way forward to strengthen the party.

"PBS will continue to play a constructive role in the state and federal political landscape, while working hard to strengthen cooperation within the state government for the future, development and stability of Sabah," said Gunsalam.

PBS is part of Sabah's Gabungan Rakyat Sabah-led 'unity government, which also includes Barisan.
