Cheras cops nab suspect over torching of motorcycle


PETALING JAYA: A local man was arrested for alleged arson involving a motorcycle in Cheras on Monday (Jan 19).

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Rosdi Daud said the incident is believed to have occurred at around 7pm.

“The police have confirmed that a man has been arrested for his involvement in an arson case,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (Jan 20).

He added that the suspect, in his 50s, was taken to court for remand proceedings.

“The case has been classified under Section 435 of the Penal Code and investigations are ongoing,” he added.
