Man found dead in Mantin with 12 stab wounds

NILAI: A man was found dead with 12 stab wounds, believed to be murdered, at a house in Damai Ria Apartments, Mantin, on Tuesday (Dec 30). Sinar Harian reports.

Nilai OCPD Supt Johari Yahya told the Malay language daily that the police received information about the death of the man, in his 30s, at around 11am.

"Initial investigations at the scene found that the victim had 12 stab wounds, including to the back of the head, chest, and neck.

"Therefore, this case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for suspected murder," he was quoted as saying in a statement on Wednesday (Dec 31).

He added that further investigations led to the arrest of two local men in their 30s, who were also the victim's housemates, at 5:17pm on the day of the incident.

Both suspects have been remanded for seven days from Wednesday until Jan 6 for further investigation.

A forensic examination of the deceased has been conducted, and the investigation continues comprehensively, including reviewing CCTV footage, witness statements, forensic analysis, and technical investigation.

"The police do not rule out the involvement of other individuals, and the investigation is ongoing.

"The public is advised not to speculate or spread unverified information that could disrupt the investigation," he said.

He also urged anyone with information related to the incident to come forward to assist in the investigation by contacting the investigating officer at the Nilai district police headquarters or the nearest police station.
