KANGAR: Perlis Pakatan Harapan has taken a strong stance on the current political developments in the state.
The state coalition said internal power struggles should not undermine the existing state government.
"The mandate given by the people is not a license for internal turmoil or political manoeuvring that only creates anxiety and undermines public trust in state institutions," it said in a statement on Wednesday (Dec 24).
The coalition added that it would support the present state government until the end of its term.
It urged that all internal political disputes be resolved immediately.
It also stated that state leadership must be courteous, mature, and respectful toward the monarchy.
It was previously reported that eight assemblymen, five from Bersatu and three from PAS, had submitted a statutory declaration to Perlis Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail, stating they had lost confidence in Perlis Mentri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli's leadership.
