Klang cops dispose of case items worth RM1.6mil, including crypto mining machines


KLANG: RM1.6mil worth of police case items, including cryptocurrency mining machines, have been disposed of by district police following the conclusion of related investigations.

North Klang deputy OCPD Supt Mohd Rahimi Zainol said at the disposal ceremony on Tuesday (Dec 23) that the items were linked to completed cases from 2017 to this year.

"The disposal involved 2,945 gambling-related items involving 443 investigation papers (IPs), 28,493 contraband items involving 55 IPs, 1,501 general items involving 274 IPs, 1,181 crypto-related machines involving 25 IPs, and valuables amounting to RM296,485.80 involving 533 IPs.

"The estimated total of all these case items amounts to RM1.6mil," he said.

He noted that the disposal also involved several weapons from murder and robbery cases, including pellet guns.

A mosque donation box was also included in the disposal, he added.

"Normally, if there is no claim to an item, we will dispose of it, as is the case with the donation box.

"A contracted company will carry out the disposal work," he said.
