KL hit by flash floods after heavy rain

KUALA LUMPUR: Heavy rain since 4pm on Friday (Dec 12) has caused waterlogging on roads and flash floods in several areas here.

This led to surface runoff and water pooling on roads, obstructing traffic flow, with stagnant water making it difficult for road users to move around in affected locations.

The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) Kuala Lumpur Command & Control Centre (KLCCC) reported that waterlogging occurred at Jalan Loke Yew, Jalan Changkat Thambi Dollah and Jalan Yew.

Meanwhile, the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department said it received a call about flash floods on Jalan Raja Chulan.

Social media was also rife with posts showing several other inundated areas in Desa Pandan, Taman Desa, Cheras and Jalan Changkat Thambi Dollah. – Bernama
