Selangor Sultan graces birthday awards investiture ceremony


KLANG: Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin graced the investiture ceremony of state awards and honours held in conjunction with His Royal Highness’ 80th birthday celebration at the Balairung Seri, Istana Alam Shah, here on Thursday (Dec 11).

Their Royal Highnesses arrived at 9.30am, accompanied by the Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah and his wife, Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz.

Earlier, Sultan Sharafuddin and Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin attended the Main Guard of Honour Ceremony at the palace grounds.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, in his pledge of allegiance on behalf of the people, state leadership and administration, extended heartfelt congratulations to Sultan Sharafuddin in conjunction with the royal birthday.

"We pray that Your Royal Highness, the Tengku Permaisuri, and the Selangor Royal Family will always be blessed with good health, peace, happiness and honour," he said. - Bernama
