Ling Liong Sik gets lifetime achievement award from Malaysia Chinese Assembly Hall

KUALA LUMPUR: Former MCA president and transport minister Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik has received the Outstanding Chinese Lifetime Achievement Excellence Award from the Malaysia Chinese Assembly Hall (MCAH).

Also given recognition were Bernama chairman and former Star Media Group CEO Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai and Sin Chew group chief editor Datuk Kuik Cheng Kang, who both received the Outstanding Chinese Media Influential Award.

The MCAH gave out awards in 11 categories to 22 recipients.

The awards were given out in conjunction with the MCAH's 22nd anniversary at its 2nd Chinese Elite Dragon Award gala dinner.

The gala was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and Energy Transition and Water Transformation Minister, together with Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

Also in attendance were Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing and representatives from over 50 foreign embassies.

MCAH is a national umbrella organisation comprising nearly 200 Chinese associations across Malaysia, covering education, culture, commerce, youth, women's groups, social welfare and philanthropy.
