Indonesian man drowns after foot gets stuck in riverbed


IPOH: An Indonesian man has drowned after his foot got stuck in some rocks in a river in Sugeh Glamping near Slim River.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department acting assistant director of operations Shazlean Mohd Hanafiah said a team from the Tanjung Malim Fire and Rescue station rushed to the scene after receiving a call at 1.50pm on Thursday (Dec 11).

"Upon arrival, firefighters found that some people had already pulled the victim out but he was unconscious.

"The victim was on holiday with his family/

"While swimming, his foot got stuck between some rocks and he drowned," he said in a statement on Thursday.

Shazlean said the victim was pronounced dead by health personnel and his body was handed over to the police for further action.
