A WOMAN in India found herself unable to close her jaw after eating pani puri, Makkal Osai reported.

Inkala Devi, 42, from Uttar Pradesh had stopped for snacks with family members while waiting at a hospital where her daughter-in-law was in labour.

As she popped a pani puri – a popular fried dough ball with filling that’s eaten whole – into her mouth, her jaw suddenly locked open, causing intense pain.

The group rushed back to the hospital, but doctors there were unable to relax her jaw. She was transferred to another facility, where specialists finally managed to restore it to its normal position.

> SJK(T) Bandar Sri Sendayan in Negri Sembilan has begun construction on a new annex building to cater to rising enrolment, the daily reported.

The school currently has 12 classrooms, but rapid growth in the surrounding area has boosted student numbers.

Officiating the groundbreaking, Matrix Concepts Holdings founder and Group Executive Deputy Chairman Datuk Seri Lee Tian Hock said the new three-storey block – expected to be completed in 2027 – will add another 12 classrooms.
