Probe into death of Palapes cadet Syamsul Haris still ongoing, says AGC


PUTRAJAYA: Police are still investigating the death of Reserve Officers Training Unit (Palapes) cadet Syamsul Haris Shamsudin to fulfil several instructions issued by the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC).

In a statement on Friday (Nov 28), the AGC referred to a media report on the same day titled "Keluarga gesa AGC bertindak selepas bedah siasat dedah punca kematian Syamsul" (UTM cadet's family urges AGC to act on second post-mortem findings).

According to the AGC, police are still conducting their investigation based on further instructions given, and a full report is expected to be handed over to the AGC soon before further action is taken.

Syamsul Haris, 22, was pronounced dead on July 28 at Kota Tinggi Hospital after undergoing training at the Army Combat Training Centre in Ulu Tiram, Johor.

He was buried at the Kampung Riching Ulu Muslim Cemetery on July 29. - Bernama
