Two ‘datuks’ held for cheating in Seremban

SEREMBAN: Police have detained two suspects who allegedly cheated several people here.

Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Azahar Abdul Rahim said the suspects aged 34 and 50 were detained on Tuesday (Nov 25).

"Acting on a tip-off, police intelligence and commercial crimes teams detained the suspects in a restaurant here on Nov 26,” he said in a statement, adding that the suspects claimed to hold datukships.

ACP Azahar said police also seized other items such as identification cards supposedly from a palace, official seals, insignias and ceremonial attire.

Also seized from the suspects were two cars and four mobile phones.

Police, he said, also obtained an order to remand the duo for four days until Nov 29.

The case is being probed under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.
