Sabah polls: Navy personnel vote early in Sandakan

SANDAKAN: Early voting for Royal Malaysian Navy personnel took place in Sandakan on Tuesday (Nov 25) at Dewan Sukan Mohd Azim, located within the Rumah Keluarga TLDM Sandakan quarters at Mile 5.

A total of 969 early and postal voters for the 17th Sabah state election are registered under this polling centre alone, comprising Navy officers and personnel, and their spouses.

The centre, which falls under the Kampung Gelam polling district of the N54 Karamunting state seat, also saw three contesting candidates making brief visits to greet voters outside the compound.

Early voting enables Navy personnel on duty to fulfil their responsibilities without disrupting essential operations.

The process proceeded smoothly under the supervision of the Election Commission, with all ballots sealed and secured ahead of counting on polling day this Saturday (Nov 29).
