KUALA LUMPUR: Calling the man who sexually assaulted and murdered her son an animal, Robiatul ‘Adawiah Aziz, did not hold back on her thoughts after the perpetrator's sentencing.
Sinar Harian reported that the mother of the nine-month-old boy who was killed four years ago shared her thoughts on social media (in a Facebook post).
“You are so cruel to me that you (sodomised and killed) my child.
"You are not a human being, you are an animal!," she said in a post Friday (Nov 21).
She admitted to feeling sorry for the actions of the perpetrator (the husband of her child’s nanny) who was willing to commit such a heinous act.
"This world is too cruel for my heavenly child.
“After four years of patiently waiting for the decision on whether you are guilty or not, you have finally been sentenced.
"Before this, you did not admit that you did it. When I heard the deputy public prosecutor (DPP) say there was semen in my child’s anus, oh god, the world is dark.
“If you look at the sentence imposed, it is really not proportional with what he (the perpetrator) did.
"What can we do now that our country does not have the death penalty, only prison and whipping
"It's okay, I am a little relieved,” the portal quoted her as saying in the post.
On Friday (Nov 21) Mohamed Badruldin Mohamed, 40, was sentenced to 30 years in prison and 13 strokes of the cane by the Shah Alam High Court for sodomising and killing a nine-month-old baby boy four years ago.
Judge Aslam Zainuddin handed down the sentence to the unemployed man who is the husband of the baby's caregiver after he changed his plea to guilty.
The plea was entered after forensic evidence confirmed the presence of the man's DNA and semen in the baby's large intestine and on the anus. An autopsy determined the cause of death was smothering.
The incidents occurred at a low-cost flat in PPR Lembah Subang between 8am and 3.30pm on April 27, 2021.
The court sentenced him to 30 years in prison and 12 strokes of the cane for the murder offence, and 10 years in prison and one stroke of the cane for the sodomy charge, with the prison sentences to be served concurrently from the date of arrest on April 29, 2021.
The prosecution was conducted by Deputy Public Prosecutor Shahrul Ekhsan Hasim, while lawyer Azizul Shariman represented the accused.
Based on the charge sheet, Mohamed Badruldin was charged under Sections 302 and 377C of the Penal Code for murdering and sodomising the child at a house in the Lembah Subang PPR flats, between 8am and 3.30pm on April 27, 2021.
