Bersatu expels two division leaders

KUALA LUMPUR: Bersatu has dismissed two of its division chiefs, Datuk Suhaimi Mohd Ghazali (Sepang) and Mohd Shukor Mustaffa (Puchong), with immediate effect.

In a notice on Tuesday (Nov 18), the party's disciplinary board chairman Datuk Mohd Radzi Manan, said the duo were dismissed for violating Clause 9.1.4 of the party constitution as well as its code of ethics and code of conduct, reported Astro Awani.

"The decision was made after the disciplinary board received a complaint from a party member.

"The board investigated the complaint and summoned the respondent for a hearing session on Oct 30, 2025 and subsequently made a decision in accordance with Clause 22.5 of the party constitution," he said.

However, it said both have the right to file an appeal within 14 days.

The latest round of dismissals is expected to increase tension within Bersatu, which is currently facing division following the nomination of party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as Bersatu's candidate for prime minister.

In October, the disciplinary board dismissed party supreme council member Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan, who is also Tasek Gelugor MP and suspended the membership of Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal for one term.

Four other members, namely Mohd Azrudin Md Idris (Hang Tuah Jaya), Mohd Faizal Asmar (Pengerang), Mohd Fadhli Ismail (Ipoh Timur) and Mohd Isa Mohd Saidi (Ampang), were also dismissed.
