Motorcyclist dies in crash on NSE near Kluang


KLUANG: A motorcyclist died on the spot after being hit by an oncoming car on the right lane at KM52.4 of the North-South Expressway (NSE) southbound.

The 45-year-old local man was riding from Kluang towards Johor Baru when the incident took place on Thursday (Nov 13) at 8.20pm.

“The victim had crashed into the rear of the stalled lorry at the emergency due to a breakdown," Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said in a statement.

He said the victim, who worked as an assistant at a food outlet in Singapore, lost control of the motorcycle and skidded into the opposite lane of the stretch.

ACP Bahrin said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries while the 33-year-old car driver, a local man, escaped unhurt.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
