SIRIM QAS extends support to four visually impaired students

SHAH ALAM: SIRIM QAS International reaffirmed its commitment to social responsibility and inclusivity through a meaningful programme that combined compassion, faith and technology.

The event featured a motivational talk by Ustaz Muhammad Haris Mohd Ismail (PU Riz) and a symbolic handover of the eBrelle “Laptop for the Blind” to four visually impaired students.

Officiated by SIRIM QAS International marketing and customer experience department senior general manager Aminudin Abd Aziz, the initiative reflects SIRIM’s dedication to empowering communities through inclusive innovation.

The eBrelle device, certified by SIRIM under the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), supports digital accessibility and learning for the visually impaired.

Aminudin emphasised that innovation must be guided by empathy and purpose.

“As Malaysia’s leading body for testing, inspection and certification, SIRIM ensures that every innovation we recognise not only performs well but also benefits the community safely and responsibly,” he said.

The programme concluded with a reflection on generosity and unity, reinforcing SIRIM’s belief that true progress combines innovation, empathy and community empowerment.

Held at SIRIM Headquarters in Shah Alam, the event was attended by SIRIM QAS management and staff members.
