Six held in connection with murder of Indian national in Puchong


SERDANG:  Six Indian nationals have been detained in connection with the murder of their fellow countryman at a shophouse in Pusat Bandar Puchong.

Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Muhamad Farid Ahmad said the body of the 49-year-old victim was discovered at 7.03pm on Thursday (Nov 6).

"The victim was an Indian national with permanent resident status.

"Subsequently, we detained six men, who were the victim's housemates, to assist with the investigation," he said when contacted on Friday (Nov 7).

One of those detained is believed to be the main suspect, he added.

"The victim was an electrician and had stayed in the country for 19 years.

"We have recorded the statements of four witnesses and we are also combing through CCTV footage in the area," he said.

ACP Farid urged those with information to contact Serdang district police headquarters at 03-8074 2222 or the nearest police station.
