Online fraud, scams a growing concern, must be eradicated, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: The issue of online fraud or scammers is a growing concern and must be eradicated completely, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The Ayer Hitam MP, in a Facebook post Thursday (Nov 6), said he had attended a briefing on the issue by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) during the Dewan Rakyat recess on Thursday.

"During the Dewan Rakyat recess earlier, I joined several MPs from the Friends of Ministry of the Communications Ministry for lunch and attended the briefing," the MCA president said in his post.

Dr Wee also said that the group had discussed strengthening national security mechanisms and ensuring the well-being of Internet users in the country.
