Malaysian man shot in Sungai Golok, seriously wounded


GOLOK, THAILAND: A Malaysian man was seriously wounded after being shot at a house in Sungai Golok on Saturday (Nov 1).

The victim has been identified as Mohd Fuad Fahmie Ghazali from Pasir Mas, Kelantan, and he was taken to the hospital at around 6.40pm.

A Narathiwat police spokesperson said preliminary investigations suggest the case stemmed from a debt dispute.

This was based on interviews with several witnesses near the scene.

“The victim is a Malaysian citizen with a family and lives in this municipal area. The suspect is a local man who attacked the victim using a 9mm pistol,” he said.

“After shooting the victim, the suspect fled,” he added.

The spokesperson said the suspect’s identity has been established and added that a manhunt has been launched.
