Missing senior citizen in Kuala Kangsar found dead


IPOH: A senior citizen who has been missing since Monday (Oct 27) after going out to look for his cows was found dead in a forest area in Kampung Paya Permai, Lubok Merbau, near Kuala Kangsar on Friday (Oct 31).

Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) acting assistant director of operations Shazlean Mohd Hanafiah said the body of Zahari Zainuddin, 70, was found at 3.48pm following a search conducted with several security agencies and villagers.

"The victim's body was found in a bush area about 900 metres from the Fire Control Centre (PKB) by the search operation team who conducted a search around the last location he was seen," he said in a statement.

He said the victim's family reported him missing on Tuesday, Zahari's body had been handed over to the police for further action.- Bernama
