Two killed in head-on crash near Kota Tinggi


KOTA TINGGI: Two men were killed on the spot after their cars collided head-on at KM18 of Jalan Mawai-Kuala Sedili near here.

The incident occurred on Sunday (Oct 26) involving two motorists, both local men aged 29 and 71, according to Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Yusof Othman.

"It is believed that the older driver lost control of his car and entered the oncoming lane before crashing into the other man's car," he said in a statement.

He said the vehicles' five passengers, all Malaysians, were badly injured and receiving treatment at Hospital Kota Tinggi.

He added that the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
