Southbound Taiping R&R temporarily closed due to floods


IPOH: The Taiping Rest and Service Area (R&R) southbound of the North South Expressway has been temporarily closed after being inundated by floods.

According to the PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) official X account, the area was closed around 7.10am on Friday (Oct 24) morning.

The concessionaire also cautioned that the emergency lane at KM204.2 southbound of the expressway between Bukit Merah and Taiping (U) has been closed due to flooding.

Over 2,000 people have been displaced due to flash floods in the Larut, Matang, Selama and Manjung districts.
