PM arrives at Parliament to table Budget 2026

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has arrived at the Parliament to table Budget 2026.

Anwar, who was dressed in a baby-blue baju Melayu and a blue samping, will be tabling his fourth budget since assuming the post in 2022.

Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, arrived at 4pm just as the bells in the Dewan Rakyat was rung to alert MPs to the start of proceedings.

He will be tabling Budget 2026 that is themed "Driving the Madani Economy: Empowering the People".

Budget 2026 will also continue to uphold the three central pillars of the Madani Economy, namely raising the ceiling of national growth, raising the floor of the people's living standards and driving good governance and public service reform.

According to the Dewan Rakyat calendar on the Parliament's website, the Supply (Budget) Bill 2026 will be debated by MPs for eight days at the policy stage, followed by ministerial winding-up sessions from Oct 29 to Nov 4.
