PETALING JAYA: A command base dedicated to enhancing the Armed Forces mastery and preparedness in the cyber domain is expected to be officially launched next month, the Dewan Rakyat was told.
The Defence Ministry said the establishment of the Cyber and Electromagnetic Command Base (MPSE) is being finalised, and will function as the country's cyber team.
"It is expected to be launched in November with its capacity increased in phases under the 13th Malaysia Plan.
"The end goal is to establish the MPSE as a full formation by 2030," it said in a written reply on Friday (Oct 10).

The ministry said this is in line with the Armed Forces strategy that emphasises mastery in new domains, including cyber and electromagnetics.
It was responding to a question by Capt Datuk Dr Zulkafperi Hanapi (IND-Tanjong Karang) who asked if the ministry is considering establishing a dedicated cyber force to respond and curb cyberthreats such as ransomware and attacks on critical infrastructure.
