Man killed, five injured in six-bike pile-up on Second Link


ISKANDAR PUTERI: A 53-year-old man has been killed and five others injured in a pile-up involving six motorcycles on the Second Link Expressway.

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm M. Kumarasan said the accident occurred at KM0.9 southbound of the expressway at 7.10am on Tuesday (Oct 7).

"The victim, who was riding a motorcycle, was travelling on the left lane when he grazed two other motorcycles, causing him to lose control of the vehicle and crash.

"Three other motorcycles coming from behind crashed into the fallen bikes," he said in a statement on Tuesday.

He added that the man suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene and the five injured were taken to Hospital Sultanah Aminah.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
