Anwar to join Malaysians from Global Sumud Flotilla at pro-Palestine rally on Oct 8

PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will attend a rally in solidarity with Palestine at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil on Wednesday (Oct 8) night.

In a statement on Tuesday (Oct 7), the Prime Minister's Office stated that the rally will start at 8pm at the Bukit Jalil stadium in Kuala Lumpur.

Earlier, activist Nadir al-Nuri said on Facebook that all 23 Malaysian activists from the flotilla who are returning home tonight will be at the rally.

The rally comes days after boats carrying hundreds of activists from 47 countries were intercepted in the Red Zone in the Mediterranean Sea and were taken to the port of Ashdod in Israel.

The flotilla of 42 ships, carrying 450 activists from 47 countries, was part of an effort to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.
