KOTA BARU: An express bus carrying 15 people overturned in an accident at Kampung Batu Balai, Jalan Kuala Krai-Kota Baru early Friday (Sept 26) morning.
The Kelantan Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said it received an emergency call through the MERS system at 5.30am from a member of the public.
"A team from the Sungai Durian and Kuala Krai Fire and Rescue Stations was immediately dispatched to the scene and arrived at 5.54am.
"The accident involved a Naza Ekspres bus with 15 victims, including the driver. Two of them were found trapped,” a spokesperson said when contacted today.

Meanwhile, Kuala Krai OCPD Supe Mazlan Mamat said the bus was driven by a 34-year-old local man from the Integrated South Terminal (TBS), Kuala Lumpur, heading to Rantau Panjang, Pasir Mas.
He said the bus suddenly lost control, causing the driver to be unable to steer the vehicle properly, which resulted in it skidding to the left shoulder of the road and overturning.
"As a result of the accident, the second driver, a 32-year-old local man, sustained minor injuries, and two passengers were rushed to the Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital, Kuala Krai for treatment.
"The first driver and 11 other passengers did not suffer any injuries," he said in a statement on Friday.
Mazlan said that the case is being investigated under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Therefore, the police are asking the public with information regarding this incident to come forward and provide information to the Traffic Police Station, Kuala Krai District Police Headquarters, or contact the Investigating Officer, Insp Mohamad Amirul Izham Azian at 09-9666222. - Bernama
