Multi-vehicle accident in Melaka leaves six with minor injuries

MELAKA: Six people sustained minor injuries in an accident involving six vehicles along the Alor Gajah-Melaka-Jasin (AMJ) Highway near a petrol station in Cheng here on Thursday (Sept 25) morning.

Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit said the incident, which occurred at about 7.30am, was believed to have happened when a four-wheel-drive vehicle travelling from the city towards Cheng lost control and crashed into a road divider.

"The vehicle then veered into the opposite lane and collided with five other vehicles,” he said in a statement on Thursday.

He said all six victims with minor injuries were taken to Melaka Hospital for treatment.

The accident also caused traffic congestion in the area while firefighters assisted in removing the damaged vehicles and clearing oil spillage at the site.
