Newly married 'Ejen Ali' animation director drowns in Kinabatangan river


PETALING JAYA: Andi Abdul Ghani Kadir, the animation director for local animated franchise "Ejen Ali", has drowned in a river in Kinabatangan, Sabah.

Andi went missing on Tuesday (Sep 23) after he fell off the Kampung Batu Putih bridge and into the river below.

Andi and his wife had been involved in an accident when the car his wife was driving went out of control on the bridge.

He then exited the vehicle and fell into the river., reported Sinar Harian.

Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Station chief Hairi Otuh said they had received an emergency call on Tuesday (Sept 23) about the accident and was swiftly dispatched to the scene.

"Andi's body was found on the riverbank near where he disappeared," he told reporters on Wednesday (Sept 24).

Tragically, Andi had just tied the knot with his wife on Sept 16.
